What's new in Eivor
News and improvements, version by version.
v1.21.0 2026-07-04
- Set Eivor as your mail app in Windows
Eivor now registers itself as a mail client, so you can pick it under Windows Settings, Default apps, Email. Once chosen, clicking an email address anywhere, on a website or in a document, opens Eivor with a new message already addressed, subject and text prefilled when the link provides them. Works whether Eivor is running or not.
- Unsubscribe now sticks
Unsubscribing from a newsletter removed the mail, but it sneaked back after the next sync. The mail is now properly archived so it stays gone. Bonus: when the sender supports one-click unsubscribe, it happens silently in the background, no browser window, and the whole flow now works the same on Microsoft 365, Gmail and IMAP accounts.
v1.20.5 2026-07-04
- Pick which calendars you see
A new Calendars menu in the calendar header lets you show or hide each calendar with one click, and meetings from shared calendars now carry their own color on the edge so you can tell yours from your colleagues' at a glance. Works for both Outlook and Gmail calendars.
- Send diagnostics to support with one click
When something goes wrong, you can now attach troubleshooting data straight from the support chat. You see exactly what will be sent first, email addresses are masked automatically, and nothing leaves your computer until you approve it. This helps us fix your issue without the back and forth.
- No more duplicated messages in conversations
Expanding a conversation could show every message twice after a search. The copies are now recognized and shown only once.
- Writing long emails scrolls with you
When a long email grew past the visible area, the text could end up below the edge so you had to scroll manually. The editor now scrolls ahead of you and always keeps a couple of lines in view while you write.
v1.20.4 2026-07-02
- Search gets smarter and much faster
When you search, Eivor now quietly fetches the full text of your top results in the background, starting from the top of the list. Opening a result is instant instead of taking several seconds, and words inside those emails become searchable, so your search keeps getting better in exactly the areas you use it.
- Opening older emails is quicker
Fetching an email's content used to make several server round trips and could even download the email's attachments just to show the text. It now makes a single lean request, so archived and searched emails open in about a second instead of four or five.
- Book a meeting straight from an email
A new calendar button in the toolbar of an open email creates a meeting with everyone in the latest message already added as participants. Pick a time, add a title, and send, the invitation goes out to all of them. Part of the Eivor Max calendar.
v1.20.3 2026-07-01
- Drag an attachment straight into a reply
You can now drag a file out of an email you are reading and drop it onto a reply, forward, or new message to attach it there, just like in Outlook. It pulls the file from the local cache when it is there, otherwise it fetches it in the background. Works from both the quick reply and the full compose window.
- Reconnects on its own after sleep
If your computer had been asleep and the connection to Eivor's server went stale, the support chat could fail until you signed out and back in. Eivor now reconnects on its own, so the support chat and background syncing recover without you having to do anything.
v1.20.2 2026-06-25
- Fixed a freeze on very large mailboxes
On a very large mailbox Eivor could get stuck on a blank screen at startup, because a background size calculation had to scan the entire attachment list. That calculation now uses an index and finishes instantly, so the app stays responsive no matter how big your mailbox grows.
v1.20.1 2026-06-25
- Recovers on its own after sleep
If Eivor's window ever froze after your computer woke from sleep, leaving a blank screen you had to force closed, it now notices and restarts itself cleanly to get you back to your email instead of leaving you stuck.
- A smoother first launch after updating
The search improvement from the previous version did its one-time indexing while you waited, which could make Eivor feel stuck for a while on a large mailbox right after updating. That work now happens quietly in the background, so the app opens straight away and search catches up on its own a moment later.
v1.20.0 2026-06-24
- Get help right inside Eivor
Eivor now has its own support assistant. A new support button at the bottom right opens a chat where Eivor helps you use the app, answers how-to questions, and takes bug reports and feature requests. It handles almost everything on the spot, so there is no waiting around for a reply.
- Search now finds your sent emails too
Searching for a person or company used to only turn up the emails they sent you, not your own replies to them. Now a normal search finds both, so you can pull up a message you sent just by typing who it went to.
v1.19.2 2026-06-21
- Out of Office now works with Gmail
Out of Office (your vacation auto-reply) now works for Gmail accounts, not just Microsoft 365. Turn the auto-reply on or off, set a subject and message, and optionally limit it to people in your contacts. It is saved straight to Gmail's own vacation responder, so it replies even when Eivor is closed. If your account needs to grant a new permission first, Eivor shows an Approve permission button that handles it in place, with no need to remove and re-add the account.
- Better thread summaries
Asking Eivor to summarise a conversation could sometimes report that there was no conversation to summarise, even on long threads. Eivor now loads the full message text before summarising, so you get a real summary of the whole thread.
- Smoother recovery if your accounts ever look missing
In the rare case Eivor opens to an empty add account screen after a restart, it now recognises that your data is still safe on your computer and offers a one-click restart to bring it all back, instead of looking like it was lost.
v1.19.1 2026-06-21
- Snooze choices fixed
The snooze options (Tomorrow, Next week, and so on) could show up blank, especially in languages other than Swedish. They are back and properly translated in every language.
v1.19.0 2026-06-21
- Stronger account security
We hardened how Eivor connects to its servers so your snoozes, calendar and account data can only be reached by your own signed-in account. This is a behind-the-scenes change, there is nothing you need to do.
v1.18.1 2026-06-21
- Stay signed in
Eivor used to sign you out about once a week, which was annoying. Now it keeps you signed in as long as you open it from time to time, even after a couple of weeks away, so you can just get to your email. If you are away for more than a month, it simply asks you to sign in once. You will also find a new "Sign out all other devices" option under Settings, Account, for when you want to end your sessions everywhere else.
v1.18.0 2026-06-21
- Early Updates, get new versions first
There is now an Early Updates switch at the bottom of Settings under Account. Turn it on and you'll get new versions of Eivor before the general rollout, as soon as they're ready. It's off by default, and you can turn it off again any time. Early versions can occasionally be a little less polished, so it's perfect if you like trying the latest first.
v1.17.0 2026-06-20
- Eivor now speaks your language
Eivor is no longer Swedish only. It now comes in ten languages: Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish. On first launch it follows your system language and falls back to English, and you can change it any time in Settings under Language. Anything not yet translated is shown in English rather than as raw text, and new features stay translated as the app grows.
- Signature and Out of Office have their own settings
Signatures and Out of Office have moved out of Account into their own Signature & OOF section. If you have more than one account, a picker at the top lets you choose which account you are setting up.
v1.16.0 2026-06-18
- Private notes on emails and conversations
Next to the quick reply there is now a "Private note" tab, a little logbook where you jot down things to remember about a thread ("Emailed payroll 6/17"). A note can be attached to a single email or to the whole conversation, and you can edit and delete them. Everything is fully private and local, it is never sent to the recipient and never synced to any server. Clearly marked "Private · never sent".
- Select multiple emails faster with the keyboard
Press Ctrl+A to select every thread in the view (to archive or delete in bulk), and Ctrl+PageDown or Ctrl+PageUp to extend the selection one page at a time. Esc clears the selection.
- Meeting responses now show clearly in the thread
When you accepted or declined a calendar invitation, your response landed as a seemingly empty email in the thread. Eivor now shows a clear status card, "You accepted the invitation", "You declined" or "You responded tentatively", and the same for responses from other attendees and cancelled meetings.
- Safer deletion, and restore deleted emails
Backspace no longer deletes an email, it sat too close to your fingers and could delete the wrong email by accident. Deletion now happens only with Del or #. You can also move a deleted email back to the inbox from the All and Trash views, and it now lands in the right place instead of staying in the trash.
- The keyboard works regardless of layout
@ via AltGr now works (on the Swedish layout the app used to jump to the Calendar instead of typing the character), and single shortcuts like "s" for search now work even with Caps Lock on.
- More stable
Three robustness fixes: "Account missing" after a restart now shows the recovery screen instead of an empty inbox (your email is never gone), the app does a light page reload instead of a heavy full restart after sleep, and a new process lock on the database protects against corruption if the app restarts itself.
v1.15.1 2026-06-16
- Images and screenshots in emails display reliably
Several issues that could make images disappear are fixed: an image at the very end of an email (such as a pasted screenshot) is no longer cut off, images do not vanish on a reload, and they do not flicker when a background sync runs.
- Paste without an extra dialog
Pasting via right-click no longer asks for clipboard permission, it just works.
- More stable on restart
If the app briefly loses its connection to the database on a restart, it usually sorts it out on its own, otherwise a recovery screen appears instead of an empty "Add account" view. No data is lost.
- Faster startup
The app no longer loads payment components (Stripe) on every startup, only when you actually go to pay. Faster startup and less network traffic.
- Minor bug fixes and improvements
v1.15.0 2026-06-16
- Drag and drop attachments
Drag files from File Explorer straight into a new email, a reply, a forward or the quick reply in the email view to attach them.
- Cleaner replies, and quotes everyone can see
In the reply window the original email now appears as a discreet button you expand when needed, instead of a large card. Replies also carry the quoted thread in the sent email, so even recipients with simpler email clients see the context, while Eivor, Gmail and Outlook collapse it behind "Show earlier messages".
- Copy text and addresses with right-click
Select text anywhere and right-click for Copy, plus Cut and Paste in fields you can type in. Right-click a recipient in To or Cc to copy the address.
- Open an attachment before you send
Click an attachment you have added to a draft to open it and double-check you picked the right file. Works for all file types.
- Send instantly with Ctrl+Enter
Ctrl+Enter now sends from any field, you do not need to click into the message body first. Ctrl+Shift+Enter schedules.
- Forwards land in the right conversation
A forward is now grouped in the same thread as the original email, on both Office 365 and Gmail. The cursor also lands directly in the To field.
- Fewer mistaps in the list
When a window is open (compose, reply, settings) the list shortcuts are disabled, so an extra tab or a mistap can no longer delete or change the wrong email by accident. The number of messages in a thread also displays steadily.
- Summarize a thread in the right language
"Summarize thread" could turn out in English when an email had a long English disclaimer. Now the summary follows the language the participants actually write in.
v1.14.0 2026-06-16
- Images in emails can be opened, copied and saved again
Images gave "failed to fetch" in the installed app. Now opening, copying and saving images works as it should.
- Names with å, ä and ö display correctly
Accounts and senders with Swedish characters (for example "Holmström") could appear garbled. Names are now decoded correctly, on both Office 365 and Gmail.
- AI replies in the right language and from the right perspective
Suggest reply and Adjust tone could answer in English to a Swedish email. The email's language is now kept. Suggest reply also considers sender, recipients and whether you're only CC'd, so the reply is written from the right role.
- Contact suggestions right away for new users
When you write a new email, recipients are now suggested as soon as anything has synced. Previously new users got no suggestions until much later.
- The stats at the bottom are per account
Mail volume, inbox remaining and average response time in the footer now reflect the selected account instead of the total across all accounts.
- Steadier after sleep
If the computer has been asleep and the app went black, it now restarts itself automatically instead of having to be force-closed.
v1.13.0 2026-06-15
- Order your accounts exactly how you want
In Settings, Account you can now drag and drop your accounts into any order. Grab the handle on the left of the account box, the cards swap places as you drag so you see where it lands. The order controls both the account switcher and the shortcuts Alt+1, Alt+2 and Alt+3, so your most important account can sit first.
- Search finds more senders
A search for several words, for example svensk handel, now also finds mail where the words sit together in the sender's address, like svenskhandel.se. Previously it gave no hit when the sender had no display name.
- Steadier and safer local data
Eivor now protects your local database better on restart, so accounts and mail always stay in place and show as they should.
v1.12.0 2026-06-15
- Accept meeting invitations right in the email
When you get a meeting invitation from Office 365/Exchange you can now reply Accept, Tentative or Decline straight from the email, even when the invitation has no .ics file (common between Exchange accounts). The organizer gets your reply and the meeting lands in the calendar.
- Google Calendar works fully
On Gmail and Google Workspace accounts you can now create, edit and delete calendar events directly in Eivor.
- Office 365 shows Eivor as a verified publisher
When signing in with Microsoft you now see Power of Dreams AB instead of the unverified-app warning. Existing accounts are not affected.
- Faster, calmer sync for large accounts
Large inboxes become usable in seconds, the rest is fetched in the background. A big first sync no longer stutters in the mail and compose views.
- Bug fixes
Deleting calendar events works, and Re-authorize now works for Gmail accounts too.
v1.11.1 2026-06-13
- Your plan shows correctly again
A connection error to the account service could briefly make a paying account (Eivor Max) show as Free and limit features. Your real plan now always shows, and a temporary error never locks you out of what you've paid for.
v1.11.0 2026-06-13
- Connect your Gmail and Google Workspace
Eivor now supports Gmail as a third account type, alongside Office 365 and IMAP. Sign in with one click just like with Microsoft, no developer account of your own needed. You choose how much to sync (inbox, the past year or everything), and the inbox starts filling right away while the rest is fetched in the background.
- Your mail lands in the right place from the start
For Gmail, Google's own sorting (Primary, Social, Updates, Promotions) is used straight at fetch time, and Eivor layers your personal learning on top. New mail is now also categorized right as it arrives, on all account types.
v1.10.0 2026-06-12
- What you write can no longer disappear
New mail and detached replies/forwards are autosaved locally every two seconds. If the computer dies mid-writing, the window reopens at the next start, right where you left off. The quick reply also remembers half-written lines when you press Escape or switch mail.
- IMAP mail is sorted in the views
Mail on IMAP accounts is now categorized into Updates, Social and Promotions just like other accounts, with its own learning per account. Sort a mail manually and Eivor learns for next time.
- Clearer quick reply
The reply box at the bottom of the mail view is taller and sits on a lighter, raised surface so it stands out clearly against the background.
v1.9.1 2026-06-11
- IMAP accounts fetch mail again
A subtle bug in the sync's UID search could make IMAP accounts go silent: no errors, but no new mail. The bug is fixed, and mail missed during the silence is fetched automatically on the first sync after the update.
v1.9.0 2026-06-11
- Archive snoozed mail for real
Archiving or trashing a snoozed mail now cancels the Snooze completely. Previously the mail could stubbornly come back to the inbox at wake time, no matter how many times you archived it.
- Invoices and notices with the right line breaks
Simple emails from senders like banks and suppliers sometimes showed up as a single clumped paragraph. Line breaks are now preserved, so invoice numbers, amounts and due dates sit on their own lines just as the sender intended.
- No more black window at startup
If the interface fails to appear at startup (for example after a power outage), Eivor repairs itself: it reloads, rebuilds the window, and in the worst case shows a clear error message with tips on what to do instead of a silent black box.
v1.8.0 2026-06-10
- Join online meetings with one click
Online meetings (Teams, Google Meet, Zoom) now have a clear Join button right in the calendar. The full invitation also appears in a larger view, cleared of technical link clutter, so the meeting ID, password and guests are easy to read.
- The calendar updates instantly
Create, change or delete an event and it shows up in the calendar in under a second, no waiting for the next sync.
- Right-click images in email
Open, copy or save images straight from the email via the right-click menu. Works for both external images and attached inline images.
- Faster switching with the keyboard
Ctrl+1 jumps to Email and Ctrl+2 to the Calendar, wherever you are in the app. Switching accounts now sits on Alt+1/2/3. Press ? for the full shortcut list.
- Small touch-ups
The Create view dialog no longer closes on a stray click outside, and the calendar sync now keeps busy/free status and reminders correctly.
v1.7.0 2026-06-10
- Subfolders within folders, all the way down
If you have folders within folders in Outlook, the whole tree now shows when you create your own view via the plus sign, with expandable levels. You can also create new Outlook folders right in the picker, at the top level or under an existing folder.
- The Move dialog finds your folders
Press M to move: your own view folders now appear at the top under Your folders, and the rest as the same indented tree as in the picker. Moved emails leave the list right away, in both directions, without lingering until you switch views.
- Safer moves
If a move unexpectedly fails on the server, the email is restored to the inbox and you get a clear error message, instead of the email vanishing into thin air.
- A calmer reading view
The reading view no longer jumps around during sync, and the view bar shows just an underline for the active view. The list and reading view now share the space 38/62 by default, drag the handle to adjust.
- Smarter search views
Custom views from searches now handle special characters like square brackets, for example subject lines such as [Finansia] Case, without you having to type subject: first.
- Calendar: faster to book
Double-click a time to create an event with the time pre-filled. Meeting titles now show even in short 30-minute meetings, and attendees appear with name and email when you invite them.
- Signatures and Out of Office in Eivor's design
The settings for signatures and auto-replies now have Eivor's look, English text and work nicely in dark mode.
v1.6.1 2026-06-08
- Upgrading activates premium instantly
When you upgrade your plan, the premium features unlock right away, with no need to restart the app.
v1.6.0 2026-06-08
- Your plan governs the features
Multiple email accounts, calendar and the AI features (summarize thread, fix text, rewrite tone, AI drafts) now follow your plan. If you have Free and want to use a premium feature, you get an easy way to upgrade right from the feature.
- Your accounts are always kept
If you downgrade, no accounts or emails are deleted. The primary account keeps working, and the rest unlock again if you upgrade.
- A reminder if a payment is missed
Should a renewal fail, you get a clear reminder for a few days so you have time to update the card before the plan changes.
v1.5.0 2026-06-07
- Try Eivor Max free for 30 days
New accounts, and you on Free, can try all Max features free for 30 days. Nothing is charged today, and you can cancel during the period at no cost at all. The offer appears under Settings, Plan & billing.
- Clearer VAT and VAT number
Plan & billing shows the right VAT for your country and remembers your saved VAT number with its status. Swedish companies see 25% VAT (domestic), EU companies in another country 0% (reverse charge). The number is verified automatically against the EU VIES register.
- A calmer Plan and billing
Cleaner, more consistent design. The trial period now shows right in the plan, and features not included in your plan are clearly marked.
- Steadier startup
If the local database becomes damaged, Eivor restores it automatically and re-syncs your mail, instead of getting stuck on startup.
v1.4.0 2026-06-07
- VAT handled correctly
Prices are shown excl. VAT and the correct VAT is added automatically based on your country (Swedish 25%, 0% outside the EU). You see the breakdown of net + VAT = total before you pay.
- VAT number for companies
If you're an EU company, you can enter your VAT number under Plan & billing and pay without VAT (reverse charge). The number is validated automatically against the EU's VIES register.
- Safer downgrades
If you switch to a cheaper plan, you keep your current plan until the end of the period, you lose nothing you've paid for, and you can undo it with one click.
v1.3.0 2026-06-06
- Eivor account
Sign in with your email and a one-time code, no passwords to remember. The account ties Eivor together across your devices.
- Plans & billing right in the app
Choose a plan and pay by card under Settings, Plan & billing. Secure via Stripe, no detour to the web. If you downgrade, you keep your plan through the period and can undo it with one click.
- Inbox shows right away
IMAP accounts show your threads as they're fetched, instead of waiting for the full sync to finish.
- Nicer error page
If something unexpected happens, you now meet Eivor's own design instead of the old blue box.
v1.2.1 2026-06-06
- Adding an IMAP account works now
The SMTP test could hang for 20 seconds and block the whole flow, three bugs: port 465 with SSL/TLS was read as unencrypted, the "Accept self-signed certificates" checkbox activated the wrong TLS mode, and changing the port didn't update the encryption setting automatically. All fixed.
- Faster error messages on SMTP problems
The SMTP connection now has its own timeout (20 sec) and logs every attempt, instead of hanging silently for up to 30 seconds.
- The box won't close by accident
If you click outside the "Add account" box, it no longer closes, only the cross or Escape.
- Better avatars during sync
Threads syncing for the first time no longer show a "?" as the sender symbol.
v1.2.0 2026-06-05
- Calendar in Eivor
Day, week and month views with their own design, recurring meetings and Office 365 sync. Local calendars are saved durably and follow you between devices.
- Reminders with notifications
Get a notification on your computer before a meeting starts.
- Meeting invitations in your mail
If you open a mail with an invitation (.ics), you can add it to the calendar directly, and on Office 365 reply Accept, Tentative or Decline.
- Meetings no longer disappear
Fixed a bug where meetings could disappear from the month view a few seconds after switching views.
- Large attachments arrive intact
Attachments over ~64 KB sent from Office 365 accounts could arrive broken (PDFs wouldn't open), now fixed.
v1.1.14 2026-06-03
- IMAP accounts steadier
Archive, move and trash now work reliably, and ghost threads in the inbox are cleaned up.
- Separate SMTP password
Now genuinely supported if your provider requires a separate sending password.
- Add account in English
Account setup is rebuilt in the new design and fully translated.
